How fast is your website?

Run Google’s own Lighthouse test on your homepage, the same way it measures a phone visitor. You’ll see four scores out of 100 in about 20 seconds, and what they mean for your business.

It takes about 20 seconds. We send your address to Google’s PageSpeed service to run the test, and nothing else.

Your four scores

What each score tells you.

Google scores each one out of 100. Under 50 is poor, 50 to 89 needs improvement and 90 or more is good. Every site we build scores 95 or more on all four before we hand it over.

  • 01Performance

How quickly your homepage becomes usable on a mid-range phone over a mobile connection. This is the one visitors feel most.

  • 02Accessibility

Whether people using a keyboard, a screen reader or larger text can use your site, and whether your colours are readable.

  • 03Best practice

Whether the site is secure, uses modern standards and avoids errors that make browsers work harder than they should.

  • 04SEO

Whether search engines can read your pages properly: titles, descriptions, links and the basics that help you show up.

Why it matters

A slow site quietly costs you enquiries.

Most people will find your business on a phone, often between other things. If your homepage takes several seconds to become usable, some of them give up before they’ve read a word, and you never know they were there.

Speed also feeds into how Google judges your pages, so a quick site has a better chance of being found in the first place. The good news is that speed is mostly about how a site is built, which makes it one of the easier things to fix.

If your score is low, we can help. We build custom websites in seven days, and each one has to reach 95 or more before it goes live.

Want a site that scores 95 or more?
