Fair questions. Straight answers.
If yours isn’t here, add it to your brief under “Anything else we should know?” and we’ll answer it before you pay.
01The build
How can it possibly take one week?
Because the long part of a normal project was never the building. It was the waiting: proposals, workshops, sign-offs, chasing copy. We took that out, fixed the process, and let AI handle the repetitive production work. The design is still made for you. The admin is what got standardised.
So it’s a template?
No. Every site is designed from scratch around your business, your brand and your own words, and built by hand in code. It’s fast because the process is fixed, not because the design is. You’ll see your site before anyone else does on Day 7, and it won’t look like anyone else’s.
How is this different from Wix, Squarespace or a template?
A template gives you someone else’s design and leaves the words, the structure, the SEO and the upkeep to you. We design the site for your business, write every page from your brief, move your old pages across without losing your Google rankings, and then host it and make your changes for you. You don’t build it and you don’t maintain it.
What do I have to do?
Just over an hour in total, and none of it on a call. Fifteen minutes on the online brief, fifteen approving your copy on Day 3, about half an hour looking through your site on Day 7, and a quick final check before it goes live. We handle the rest.
Do I have to speak to anyone?
No. Choose a package, pay online, complete the brief and your week begins. Everything runs through the site and email. We’re reachable if you want us, but nothing in the process needs a meeting.
Do I need to have my copy and photos ready?
No. We write the copy from your brief. For images, send whatever you have; we’ll treat it to match and fill gaps with carefully chosen photography.
How does the 48-hour build work?
You skip the queue. We start on the next business day after you book, and you review a working site two days later. It’s the same design standard and the same checklist, just compressed, and it costs more because it displaces a build week. You can add it to Essential or Studio. A Full build has too many pages and moving parts to promise in 48 hours, so if you need one quickly, say so in your brief and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible before you pay.
Why is there a queue at all?
Every build starts on a Monday, and we limit how many we take on so each one gets proper attention. Bookings for a Monday close at the end of the Friday before, and if a week is full you’re offered the next open Monday. If you can’t wait, the 48-hour build puts you at the front.
02Price and the guarantee
If it’s this fast, why isn’t it cheaper?
Because you’re paying for the same work an agency does: design, copy, SEO, redirects and testing, done properly. We just don’t charge you for months of waiting. Our prices sit below a traditional agency and well above a template site, because what you get is a custom site, not a theme with your logo on it.
How do payments work?
Your build is a one-off payment, made in full when you book. That is what locks your build week. The price is fixed, and if we miss your date we refund the build in full. S7UDIO SEVEN is a brand by Journey Ventures Pty Ltd, so Journey Ventures is the name on your receipt and card statement.
What is the guarantee?
Every build starts on a Monday, and Day 7 is the Monday after. If your site isn’t built, working and live on a review link by the end of that day, we refund the build in full. The week starts once your brief is complete, and the clock only pauses if we’re waiting on you for more than four business hours. That’s the only condition.
What if I don’t like it?
You have two rounds of revisions after Day 7, each back to you in two business days. And because you approve the direction and the copy during the week, there are no surprises on Day 7.
What happens after revisions?
We point your domain to the new site, check every redirect and switch it live. From there Care takes over: we host the site, keep it secure and make your changes, billed monthly at the rate set by your package. If you ever want to move the site elsewhere, the Transfer service is a one-off $3,500 AUD (£1,900 or US$2,500).
03After launch
What happens after my site goes live?
We stay. Your site runs on our hosting under Care, so there’s always someone looking after it: hosting, security, backups and the changes you ask for, usually within two business days. Care is part of every build, billed monthly at the rate set by your package: 12-month minimum, then month to month.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the move is done properly, and that’s included. We map every old URL to its new home with permanent redirects, keep or improve your page titles, and submit the new sitemap to Google. Faster, better-structured pages usually help rankings rather than hurt them.
Can I edit the site myself?
No, and you won’t need to. We manage every site we build, so when you want something changed you send us a request and we make it, usually within two business days. Changes to your copy, images and prices are part of Care. New pages and new features are quoted as extras.
Do you do SEO and marketing after launch?
If you want it. Every site launches with its SEO foundations done: page titles, structure, schema, sitemap and redirects. Growth work is optional on top: an SEO Sprint for search-led landing pages, or SEO Monthly for ongoing articles and reporting. Both are on the pricing page, and you can add either whenever you’re ready.
Can I host or manage the site myself?
No. Every site we build runs on our hosting and is looked after under Care, which is how we keep it fast, secure and up to date. Care starts when your site goes live and is billed monthly at the rate set by your package, with a 12-month minimum and month to month after that. If you’re not happy with Care in your first 90 days, tell us and it ends there, with nothing more to pay on the minimum term.
What if I want to move my site somewhere else later?
You can. Your domain and your content are always yours. If you want to take the site itself, our Transfer service is a one-off $3,500 AUD (£1,900 or US$2,500): we package the code and content, set it up on your hosting and hand it over to your developer. Care ends once the transfer is done. If that’s inside your first 90 days, there’s nothing more to pay on the minimum term; after that and inside your first 12 months, the rest of the term is settled at the same time.
What happens if I stop paying for Care?
We’ll retry the payment and email you, because cards expire and that’s usually all it is. If it’s still unpaid after 30 days, the site comes offline until it’s sorted. Your domain and your content stay yours the whole time, and you can book the Transfer service whenever you like.
04The details
Do I need to know what Astro is?
No. Astro is a modern way of building websites that sends visitors only what they need, so pages load almost instantly. For you that means better Google performance, nothing to patch and no plugins breaking.
Do you build online stores, bookings or portals?
Yes, as optional extras. The seven-day build is for the website itself. Stores, booking engines, portals, web apps and photography are quoted on scope and run on their own timeline after your site is live, so they never put your Day 7 at risk. If you don’t have a brand yet, we can create one from scratch before your build week for a fixed $2,990 AUD (£1,650 or US$2,150).
Where do you work?
Everywhere. We build for service businesses in any country and any market. Prices show in AUD, GBP or USD, and because the brief, the copy and the review all happen online, your time zone never matters. If you’d like a call first, we’ll find a time that suits you.
